Our Team
BARRY L. COHEN, ATTORNEY
Barry Cohen grew up in New York, and later moved to the Los Angeles area where he attended college and obtained his law degree. Barry was admitted to the California State Bar in 1977; and the U.S. District Court, Central District in 1979. Barry is a member of the Business Law and Litigation sections of the California State Bar, as well as the Los Angeles County Bar Association and the Consumer Attorney Association of Los Angeles. Barry began his career with one of southern California's most successful personal injury law firms where he gained extensive litigation knowledge and trial experience. In 1987, after developing a passion for the myriad of other legal disputes in which so many people and businesses are involved, Barry started his own practice. Throughout his career Barry has handled a litany of legal disputes and litigated matters including commercial real estate, residential real estate, employment claims, Unfair Business practices, trade secrets, legal malpractice claims, attorneys' fee disputes, partnership disputes, and just about every other type of civil dispute that governs the day to day lives of the general public and business world.
Barry has successfully represented clients in the bringing and defending of lawsuits for over 36 years. He has always been, and always will be, driven by a passion to win for his clients. Every case is personal to him and he will not give up until he has formulated a strategy that will maximize his client's chances for winning. Barry's reputation is that of an experienced, skilled litigator who will aggressively search out solutions to problems that may seem irreconcilable.
For over 30 years, much of Barry Cohen’s law practice has involved the representation of other lawyers, for everything from legal malpractice claims, to their battles with other lawyers, to their personal and business disputes, to the breakup of their law firms. He has represented celebrities, Judges and other high profile persons, as well as those who have needed legal help but could not afford to pay for it. On several occasions he has been blessed by perhaps the greatest compliment of the legal profession; to be hired by those he had sued in the past.
